While high school seniors across the country are preparing for their next steps after graduation, several members of the John C. Birdlebough High School junior class are also considering their future after recently receiving scholarships.
Nine JCB juniors were selected for prestigious college scholarship awards in recognition of their academic achievement, leadership, and potential for future success. Each scholarship is offered by a respected institution of higher learning and is intended to support and encourage students who have demonstrated excellence in a variety of disciplines.
The following students were recognized: Cadence Hunneyman (Alfred University Scholars Award); Elizabeth Bullis (Alfred State Pioneer Leaders Award); Marcus Horne (Clarkson University Leadership Award); Lilly Brown (Clarkson University Achievement Award); Emma Dates and Sara Speich (Le Moyne College Heights Award); Lacey Goodman (Rochester Institute of Technology Women in STEM Award); Liam MacDonald (St. Bonaventure University Bonnie Scholarship); and Duncan Mackridge (University of Rochester George Eastman Award).
"We are incredibly proud of these students and their dedication to academic and personal excellence," said Principal Thomas Bailer. "These awards are a testament to their hard work, leadership, and the strength of our school community."
