Fifteen Emerson J. Dillon Middle School students were recently inducted into the National Junior Honor Society for their accomplishments in the classroom and in the community.
Principal Brett Doody praised the students for their hard work and dedication.
“You should all be incredibly proud of what you have achieved,” Doody said. “Not just in the classroom, but in the way you make your school and community a better place.”
Doody noted that the inductees exemplified the five pillars of NJHS: scholarship, leadership, service, character and citizenship. These qualities were highlighted during the ceremony as current NJHS members talked about each attribute and lit a candle to symbolize each one.
NJHS co-advisers Jennifer Mainville and Laurie Doss presented the inductees with certificates and pins welcoming them into the prestigious organization.
The new inductees were Kinley Barton, Everly Beerman, Kailyn Cantello, Rhiannon Curran, Caleb Dunn, Harper Gratz, Emma Gullen, Lydia LaValley, Dante Raponi, Elisa Reyes, Zachary Rienhardt, Mathew Shaffer, Amie Trang, Sophia Westbrook and Samuel Zacholl.
